Impolan Kasvitila's cold-pressed Camelina oil is carefully made from Finnish camelina seeds by mechanical cold pressing. The gentle manufacturing method preserves the seeds' valuable nutrients, such as polyunsaturated fatty acids, alpha-linolenic acid, tocopherols (vitamin E) and plant sterols.

Camelina seed oil contains 40–47% of the dry matter. Up to 54% of the oil’s fatty acids are polyunsaturated – significantly more than in rapeseed oil (32%). The proportion of alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3) is approximately 40% (rapeseed 8%), and the proportion of linoleic acid (omega-6) is 15% (rapeseed 20%). This balanced and rich fatty acid composition has been found to have a positive effect on cardiovascular health, especially by reducing LDL cholesterol.

Camelina oil is also rich in plant sterols – a total of 442 mg / 100 g , the main part of which is sitosterol. Cold-pressed camelina oil effectively preserves sterols and natural antioxidants, such as vitamin E, providing protection against oxidation and helping to maintain balanced cholesterol levels.
